Went to the store and saw about 7 Phals., one had 2 spikes. I wondered why nobody bought it. I took a closer look and saw that the "top dressing" was mold. Well, it came home with me and I repotted as soon as I got through the door. The bark mix was sopping wet and badly decomposed, no dreaded lump of moss in the middle. Some dead roots, some still good. I cleaned it up and put it in fresh bark. It didn't miss a beat and 2 buds have opened since.
It's the only blooming thing in the house just now and I do enjoy it. Although I think my Paph. wardii is spiking. Will post a picture tomorrow and let you all decide if yes or no.
