Butterfly--as long as he still has both ears when you're done things will be fine.....Seriously, take your time with the haircut, start by taking off a little and you can always go back and cut off more if you need to....

Lorna--if you're going with baskets (and I think they'll look cool) you can either purchase or make your own. I found a good source of cedar 1 x 2's (aka cedar furring strips), which I have used to far as the top of my orchid bench (cedar is pretty rot resistant, so I figured it would handle the dampness from daily watering better than pine). I've been thinking about making baskets with it, but haven't had time yet. Pity that mundane things like work, laundry, and sleep get in the way of things I really want to do....

Cedar is also a really good bug repellant. My ex was an Aussie and his whole house was cedar. Needless to say, he never had termites. They also tell you to use cedar mulch in gardens to repel nasties. So I second the cedar option.

Hi Lornie
so how did it go today with shopping for orchid supplies? Any luck?
I just got my Leptotes Pohlitinocoi - the one that did not do anything for you, you remember:-) - It came in tiny plastic pot, and I knew I want to mount it so i did clean roots from bark, and used the piece of cork slab I had purchased just for this babe few days ago. Just sharing another mounting, I think it looks always great on cork slab:-)

Default Goodbye My Friends

Yo Mister TOMMY,

Thank you so much for your message this evening and the wonderful pictures of your newly mounted Orchids.

I did go shopping today.

I went to check on the progress of my New Car that I have ordered. I can't let them drag their feet. Should have my new Golf Cabriolet in September. Can't wait.
New VW Golf Cabriolet - Official Site : Volkswagen UK

I also bought a new wireless keyboard so that I could talk to you again.

I also bought some cork bark ready to play the mounting game. HAD A GOOD DAY ALL IN ALL EXCEPT FOR . . .

Except for this message I got privately last evening. I won't embarrass the Senior Member by revealing their Identity, but I did want you to know why I left.

Whoever owns this Forum may keep the money I paid them. I have had great benefit from being here for this little while.

Anyone who would like to keep in touch can get me at: e4llorna@yahoo.com

Love to all of you that I befriended and didn't manage to annoy.

Just to mention
Hi there,
I'm sorry if I'm going to be a bit.... tough but... would you please stop all this drama with your posts & writing style? This is an orchid growing forum, not a strip club of some kind. I appologize but seriously, it's getting on some folks nerves after a while.

???
Sorry, is the message under JUST TO MENTION the one you got? seriously??? Wow, and I though there is freedom of speech, and we can actually talk friendly stuff as well, except talking about orchids, which we pretty much do all the time. So sorry Lornie, I know how much you did like this forum, this is a shame:-(((
I will email you from my email so you can keep in touch. You will be missed here, I loved chatting with you - IT IS NOT LIKE there is so many people here and so many chats, right!!!??? And you PAID money to be here???

Yep. That came in last night from a Senior Member and my Keyboard had just gone out and I couldn't reply.

I was very shocked at the content of it and thought it was uncalled for.

I really don't think I had overstepped the mark really. Maybe they've just got some insecurities or something. Maybe a jealous or insecure wife? I dunno. Poor Sod.

I did enjoy talking with you and reading all your advice on here. Geez you were my new Godfather too.

At least we can keep in touch and you can guide me away from Forum life. Such a bloomin shame.

That person ought to be ashamed of themselves. I am ashamed of them.

Lornie, I did email you already, keep in touch, any time. You are still Godmother to all my new babies, so I will keep you posted and will be sending emails and photos, if you do not mind:-(
It was truly nice chat with you here. I still can't believe you got such a message, it is shame! I wish to know who did send it, but I know you wanna keep it private. Ok Honey, email back and keep in touch.
BTW I love the orchid pots, i checked the website, they are little pricy though:-) Though about ordering few, maybe later. I love anything that will help not OVER WATER my orchids, as you already know!

Lorna--

Don't let one member drive you away from this forum if it's something you value and enjoy. By allowing them to do so you give them control over you (and to some extent over this forum).

We all have different personalities and writing styles (and I'm sure that there are members who think my posts are way long--well, they are, I DO tend to babble), we all have bad days (oh boy, voice of experience here), and we all have times where for one reason or another we come across in our posts in a way that we don't intend (again, voice of experience).

Personally, I appreciate your enthusiasm and humor and general joie de vive, and I'm sure that other members do as well.

I would hope as adults (or at least reasonable people regardless of age) that we would learn to respect and value each other for the knowledge and experience we can contribute and focus less on the nit picking.
