Orchid Police
Tommy I'm calling them now. That's it! You've gone a step too far Sir. . . . .
"You can get off alcohol, drugs, women, food and cars. But once you're hooked on orchids, you're finished."
All over the world, people start with one orchid, and before they know it, they're addicts. "They call many of us 'Orchaholics.
There is something called the Orchid Police. And there are even orchid safaris. In fact, Hansen says he has led an Orchaholic on a three-week expedition into the jungles of Borneo just to snap a picture of the rarest orchid on earth.

My name is Tomas, and I am ORCHAHOLIC:-)))) Yap, here it is, and I'm kinda proud of it:-)))) It is all good, you know, from all the addictions, I think this one is the best one, and I would rather be orchaholic than anything else. I think in my case it is just some escape therapy, I am workaholic, that's proven, so since I do work like 18 hours a day, I need something else, to get me off this addiction, and orchids do that trick, I go to my balcony like 20 times a day, watch them, sprinkle them, look at them, take a pictures of them:-) little escape from the work couple times a day is good for me anyway:-) And you know what, I am actually planning to do PICTURE HUNT for Florida native orchids as well, never thought about going to everglades and try to take pics of these babies in nature! I think it is great idea, although Borneo sounds much better:-) My partner already gave up, I asked him yesterday if I can buy just FEW MORE and he said balcony is yours anyway already for a years, so go ahead:-)

I like your jungle room. Now all you need are a few exotic birds and a tiki bar.

I have to agree, when I saw the first post on here I was pretty skeptical about someone being finished collecting lol. The best I can manage is put a lid on it and try and keep myself under control...but that's about it. I am guessing you'll always have room for one more orchid.
Congratulations on your collection it really is beautiful.

True true, however, I do have to give this one to my partner, I do not NEED to fill all the space within one month, right? I mean, I wish I would win today's power ball, than no problem, but orchids, as lovely as they are, are not also the cheapest hobby:-) And I must admit, the last month spending went way over $1000, so I think I have to be done at least for some time now:-))))))))))

Very true, I've been in negation for a while with my better half about letting me get a greenhouse. She is just about convinced . After I get that thing the way I want it I will be telling my friends and family I only accept gifts in the form of orchids, orchid supplies, and gift cards for both.

you are just reading my mind, everybody had always hard time to come with gift ideas for me, so from now on, pretty much gift cards for places selling orchids and supplies:-) It will make me always happy and won't hurt so much family account:-=))))) Good luck with your greenhouse, thanks God I am not in a need for that, our Florida weather is good for most of my babies, so no spending on that front:-)

Yes, you are very lucky to have that tropical weather. We are close enough to the gulf that we have what I call subtropical weather. Perfect spring and summer but we just get that short little bit of cold that wont let me grow out yea round. I'm going to have to get some serious shade clothes for our summer's though, it feels like we are in FL some days.
