Scaphyglottis Prolifera - hot to make it bloom? Male
Default Scaphyglottis Prolifera - hot to make it bloom?

Hi everyone
again me:-) Sorry
I have this gorgeous mounted Scaphyglottis for nearly 2 years, it seems like it is doing pretty well at my balcony, keeping it in shade where it gets not direct sun at all but still enough light. It definitely doubled in size and it seems very healthy, however it has not bloom for me yet. Is there any trick, or do I do something wrong? Thanks for any help.

Slighty different but my crab grass (scaphyglottis graminifolia) is about to bloom for the second time this season (I think the first time back in March was a fluke event). Its in a filtered window.

I have to ask, are you sure it hasn't bloomed? The flowers are tiny! I ask because I almost missed mine. I think yours are bigger but still very very small.

Thanks for answer. I am also wondering, it is suppose to be easy to grow and blooms even multiple times a year, at any time, if i do remember description. I do believe my baby has optimal conditions, enough light but not direct sun, shade, keeping the bark moist and watering at least 3-4 times a week. It grows rapidly, but I am sure it did not bloom. I am also macro photography freak therefor I do constantly check on my balcony anything I can take macro pictures of, I really do thing I would not miss it, especially when I am even looking for it:-(

Yours is much bigger than mine, growth wise. I would move it towards more light.

I actually did, but I know it can not have any direct sun, that would burn it, so I am very careful about it. I hope it will somehow bloom this year, it is really big plant already:-) Many Thanks
