Depends on what kind... I have three different kinds and they seem to last 2-3 weeks on 1, and about a month on the others. Yes, weather and conditions in general makes a big difference. I also try not to move them around during a bloom. Since they come sequentially, often the next flower is imminent. I have a few of the alba-type and they open more than one flower at a time for me. My friends (those that are non-obsessive about orchids) like psychopsis so much I've started giving them as 'gift' orchids to them. With some instructions, people seem to be able to take care of them OK.

This flower opened on the 17th this month, it is a first blooming. I'll post when the flower drops, hopefully that will be in a few weeks.
