Default Help needed to cure sick orchid

Newbie here. Had this phal for over a year and would like to save if possible. Tried treating it with alcohol, listerine, physan along with spag n bag method, but no luck. Any advice/ help is appreciated.

Pot it up with sphagnum moss in the smallest pot you can, keep it in lower light and mist the moss lightly daily. This will encourage root growth.

I agree with rangiku. Make sure not to pack the moss too tightly or bury the plant too deep in the moss.

Or just leave it in this cup and take it out every couple of days and water the roots then put it back in cup.

I have had both methods, that Rangiku, & James suggested, work... Just keep the humidity up, put in lower light (not dark!). You can also use Superthrive, KLN, or Seaweed Extract, to help it grow new roots (just follow product directions). Most importantly, have plenty of patience, orchids are slow growers, but they don't wanna die, so just give them good conditions, take proper care of them, and let them do their thing Good Luck!

Why just leaving it in the cup and watering every few days works is because phals are epiphytes and as such need no media or other support to grow well. They grow on tree limbs and branches without anything else. I'd pull out my trusty pic of my catt which grew on a wire but I think everyone is tired of it by now. And I have just finished mounting it on my rescue board anyway.

With one like this I would do like James suggests first. Once new roots start growing I would then think of potting it up in a very tiny pot just big enough for the roots.

I've saved ones that way before.

Thanks for the input everyone. Sadly today I noticed the remaining leaf turning yellow, but I'm still hopeful that it will recover.

I dont want to sound crud or anything. I wouldnt want you to get your hopes up about this one.. To me it looks like you had root rot going on there and you did not notice. The root rot then spread to the crown.

Did you grow your phal in Sphag moss?
