Maybe because I don't honestly know zip about keeping Orchids is the reason mine appear to be doing good. All my knowledge came from youtube.

I have read sooooo many things about caring for Orchids on this very Forum that I have been doubting that I will ever be a good Orchid parent. It's toooo fussy and precise.

Don't all worry so much. No one rears theses babies in the wild, so maybe just enjoy watching them do their own thing. Does that upset anyone and sound too harsh?

I hope not. I like it here. I don't wanna be run out of town.

I am at least lucky one, with my collection and our weather, there is nearly at all times at least one orchid that blooms, I guess it pays off to collect many different species from all around the world, and I kinda did try to plan it as well, looking for some particular ones that are blooming at the times no others are:-) So, thanks god for that. Plus, just the fact I can look out from the living room and see that balcony jungle with orchids hanging around is still impressive:-)

It's more than impressive Mister Tommy.

It's one of The most well planned and interesting hideaways I've ever seen.

I am really envious of your set up and location.

With some research time, planning, and money on the side, pretty much we can all try to achieve something similar. Unfortunately you can not change the location, however as I did learn there is so many orchids that actually love and need cold weather, that I think everyone can rally try. But I guess you must be little bit of orchid freak like we are, and it must be your hobby, than it all comes together somehow, it took me years to get where I am right now:-) and as with my other hobby, photography, I do follow the rule there is ALWAYS time to improve and only get better:-)))))

I got Burana, I bought it when blooming, but it did not bloom this year:-) Regarding the cold climates, most cymbidiums require colder climate, with big temperature drops in the winter between day/night to bloom, also Draculas, which you may know as Monkeys Orchid, they really do look like monkeys when blooming, Paphiopedilums and there is a whole bunch of other plants that like colder weather:-) I am sure there will be some blog here about cold climate orchids somewhere:-)
