thank you it is a noId from walmart i am going to try to post a pic i have of it when it was blooming when i first got it in April. It really is thriving outside in this hot humid weather. im in nj. i bring it in at night usually because im afraid bugs will start on them. Its very buggy at night. So far so good. I wonder if being inside in the AC at night triggered a spike?
Also when I got it was double spiked. I have used a little rooting hormone and fertilize with Better Gro orchid fertilizer. it is potted in loose sphag with packing peanuts.

does anyone see that there is like a substance (growing?) above the spike and root on the right? what is that is it normal? It is firm not mushy .

I don't know exactly what you are referring to but I don't see anything wrong with your plant.
