I am, The One and Only!!
This baby has gone to live with my Daughter ~ Sarah.
Do Orchids need a partner for life to survive or are loners good too?
I know plants will take some time to settle into new surroundings, but would they settle better with some company. I don't include the Hamster - Steve or the Tortoise - Derek, but do they 'need' another Orchid to thrive off?
I look OK don't I?

It doesn't matter if they're alone or not.
Sometimes in the wild, 1 orchid will only occupy 1 tree.

Good to know that, very reassuring. I would have given her a second one if it would have been of any benefit for the first one.
At least there won't be any cross-contamination for the lonely little thing.

Of course you always need more to keep the existing ones company  When you mail order them you always get more than one so they have a companion for the journey (you might often find references to 'travelling companions' her on orchid board, especially when we've done projects and travelling companions accompany the project plant).
Seriously they can be kept on their own, but it's always nice to have more  |

Baby Pots
OK You've convinced me everyone.
I do have the six new seedling plants that I bought to share with my Mum. Two of them were identical Cattleyas. I will let one go to Sarah.
Very soon now, my Orchid Pot Company are launching a new smaller pot, so I will let Sarah have one of Mum's seedlings in a new size pot when they come out. I can't wait to get these new sized Pots. (Hopefully by next month). I am so impatient.
