I was watching the news tonight and saw a hand prostesius made for a kid with a maker bot. I think you could make these pots with a maker bot for about $1.00. Although the maker bot (3D Printer) cost around $1200 to $2000

Hi larrylwill. I saw that newscast today too. For what the father and son made with their 3D printer and the success of their efforts, that was remarkable. These smaller pots are US$19.99. They are made in Germany.

I cant see it. I have about 20 orchids. So 20 x $20 is $400 in pots. 1/3 the price of a decent 3d printer and I could print them in any size or color.

If you want to try this out, I'd buy these pots from you. It comes in two parts, the pot itself and the screw in saucer. The design of the pot allows for maximum air flow.

Problem might be their patented, then I could not sell them. I have been wanting a 3D printer but can yet justify the money. I need to find more things I need to make.

I could only make them for my own use, until they change the patent laws. They would be easy to make minus the screw in bottom. I would just make the whole thing as a single piece. I think I will check if somebody can make them for me.

Acrylic Round Rod (Extruded) - Clear - 72" Length x 1/4" Diameter (Pack of 10): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific = 720 inches of 1/4" Acrylic rod. Makes 24 pots of 30 uprights. Just need a base and some Acrylic glue. Should cost about $@.00 per pot, depending on the base and take about 20 minuets per pot to make.
