Why did my paphs roots stop growing Female
Unhappy Why did my paphs roots stop growing

I have a paph venustum that I bought in January in bloom and with a new growth started it bloomed for a few weeks then the bloom came off, it continued to grow new leaves but no roots until spring I started to see lots of new roots I think five but could be wrong, the roots just started to poke out then they stopped they still have not grown and its been months, it is still growing new leaves, does anyone know why its roots are not growing

I have it inside under lights if you want I can take some pics and post them but didn't know if you would need them.

thanks for any help you can give me.

Are the roots short of the potting medium? I've seen some of my few paphs do this with their roots; if they're not in contact with the medium they seem to just "pause"!

Keep some moist moss around the roots that will activate them again.

It may be that your Paph needs to be potted a bit deeper - or add some media to the top. Paphs are usually semi-terrestrial, and as such, roots aren't generally exposed.

Pix would help
