I Think I May Have Graduated...

from orchid killer to orchid grower. I now have 4 plants. That is all I can have. My apartment is not very plant friendly and it has been interesting retraining my cats not to scent mark the newcomers or ocassionally chew on a leaf, but everyone has adapted quite well.

At work, I still keep my mini-phal. She is still holding on to the last of her blooms and will be ready to have her spikes trimmed down in a couple of weeks. I am now confident I can tell when she needs water without promoting rot.

I am overjoyed to say I am over my orchid phobia now and although I am very much enamoured with these beautiful enigmatic plants, I have no choice but to exercise self-control and only keep the handful I already have. Of course, I am still learning and I wanted to thank everyone here for being so very helpful. You made everything so much easier and although my plants cannot speak for themselves, they are grateful to be alive and healthy because of all of you.
