Phal Contest: one with the mostest (flowers)?
It's been a good year for my phals and I am attaching two photos from today that show two of my phals in all their glory. The "NOID" has 14 flowers open and 3 not yet. The ID slightly fragrant one (very pleasant but gotta stick your nose to the flowers) has 14 (again) flowers and 4 buds. What's the maximum? Is 17-18 total flowers the max for phals? Would love to see more entries...

Looking really good!
This is probably my most. But the plant has gone downhill since
My records tell me that I counted 32 flowers at this point. The spikes were grown unstaked so going every way. Though with the weight of the flowers I had to try and support one of them. This was only the second phal I bought in March 2008, this flowering was July 2010.

I've just got my first rebloom, and so far on the still growing spike I've got 1 open flower with 7 additional buds.
JanS - What is the name of your ID plant? They're both beautiful, but I absolutely LOVE the coloring of that one!

Those are just beautiful!!! I think genetics plays a large role in these kinds of displays. I had one that bloomed like that...Notice I said "had". It got molested by an apple tree.

Well, so much for the contest! Rosie's got me beat by a mile with 32 flowers (WOW!!!). Gorgeous plant!
MrsH - the ID on my phal says: Phal. Tying Shin Cupid "Montclair" (x). I've had it for almost 3 years now and it always shoots out multiple spikes...

I have a white NOID phal that is developing its' spikes. At the moment 6 flowers have opened up.
It has two spikes, with a lot of branches and the tips are still growing putting out new buds. So far, I can count 50 defined buds. If they will all open up is a different matter, but the plant sure wants to put on a display.
I should take a picture of this one...it's by far the most I've had on any of my plants up to now.
