Now that you mention it, some friends of ours bought us a Phalaenopsis for my husband's and my 1st year anniversary 2 weeks ago....so she will have company. I hope I do a better job with this one than I did my first.

Put him in Sick Bay! Just let his roots dry out for a day or two...bareroot. Then put him in a solution of KLN 1tsp/gal for a few hours. He will survive but he'll be ugly for awhile. No big deal because in the end, the new growth will take over and you'll have a nice plant again. Once you've soaked him good....plant him in anything but sphagnum moss...preferable coconut husks, sponge rock and some charcoal. Wait a day or two and then start watering with a weak fertilizer, alternate with seaweed and KLN. That always works for me.

Yep, Silken, Nat, & HighSeas have given u great info! All I have to add, is that I have witnessed firsthand that Catts r tough! I received a Catt in the mail (a 2nd freebie), and it had lost its roots... that was 6-7months ago. Now, it has 3 new leads (it had rotted into two pieces ~4 PB's so, apparently, twice the leads) and TONS of new roots. Yours prob shouldn't take as long (hopefully) b/c it's growing season... I got mine in the fall, so I had to wait. Good Luck! Also, don't keep him too moist.
