Orchids Really are Amazing! Female
Default Orchids Really are Amazing!

Last week, when I purchased my new Paph, there was a leaf that looked as if it had been sliced about 3/4 of the way to the base of the plant. I figured when they were unpacking the plants, they sliced it with the box cutter. I thought I surely was going to lose the major part of the leaf since it was kind of just hanging there and sort of floppy. The 2 halves were definitely separated and there was a small gap in between. I decided to leave it alone and wait it out while it yellowed and died.

Today, when I changed out the media, I got a really good look at the site of the injury, but it had fused back together on its own. You can't even tell that it was cut all the way through. It just looks like a scar on the leaf:

yes they are. All plants amaze me we think they are so fragile, yet they have been able to be here longer than any human or animal for that matter..

they truly are amazing.

I see where the cut was i'm glad it recovered.

This post just gave me hope for a damaged plant I have! I've propped up a leaf and stabilized it... we will see what happens. :-)
