Not trying to bore anyone. Yes it is cloudy and slow today. These are some rescues I've been coaxing along for a few seasons now and I thought I would update their pics for those who've been here awhile. Most of my collection are rescues.

You must be the orchid whisperer of our board, that coaxing you've done with these plants is really effective! Thanks for sharing.

I don't find that boring! I think it's awesome! We're officially dubbing you the "Humane Society for Orchids"! I'd take in some rescues but people just tend to throw them out don't they. Where do you get yours?

I do a lot of walking around the beach area here and see them out by the trash and I also go to the various orchid shows around SoCal and always visit the donation tables. I like to "grow" orchids. I buy very few from vendors. It's more challenging but you have to like doing it or you get tired of not having those fabulous blooms others have. For me...to have something bloom when it was nearly dead is the prize. I also like learning. Like from my friends here. Thank you all. It's not for the sane.

That is an amazing job you've done with them. I see lots of new growths to reward your efforts. If I saw an orchid in the bin I'd take it too! Free is good.

Looking good! Wish I knew where to find 'donation rescues' !..cause I think I'm getting addicted to finding the sad looking orchids & bringing them back to happy & healthy, that's more what I'm addicted to, than simply buying them for the pretty flowers...Oh and I do like growing plants from seed & am wanting to try my hand at that ...being a beginner I don't know not to try videos on youtube show how....
