This is cool. I have seen this stuff at a canadian tire store in Vancouver and was wondering if it would work with orchids. Keep us updated.

Experiment with gel2root Female
Default Update

After a few weeks i ended up having to remove the orchid from the gel and cut off its remaining root since it rotted. I left the orchid in the fish tank where ive kept rootless orchids under a grow light, where the orchid received a misting everyday. Its leaves got more wrinkly so i went to throw it away a few weeks later, thats when i noticed it had not one but two new roots starting to come through! . I was suprised that this little plant still has so much life in it. I continued misting it everyday, making sure to get its new roots a little wet. Upon checking on it today i seen it had another three roots coming out. Making that FIVE new roots .

But thinking about it now, i wonder if the gel did help it. It seems to be the only orchid i have with so many new roots coming out at once.

Please clarify the "had to remove the orchid from the gel". You left the plant in the gel container for several weeks?

If I'm not mistaken, the idea is to dip the base of the plant, then pot it up, where the gel will slowly wash away. Leaving a plant constantly exposed to concentrated rooting hormones is probably not the best idea.
