Default a couple of psychopsis questions

I have 2 questions regarding my psychopsis. I purchased it over the passed christmas. It was in the clearance rack because it's flower had finished. I didn't know what kind of orchid it was until I got it home. I knew not to cut the infloresence as it can stay blooming for a long time. Well it was in sphagg so I repotted into bark and waited. The what looked like a start of a flower died and so too did what l;ooked like a new pbulb. I was so upset. It did finally start to grow a new pbulb, but something is growing from it I believe it is a new spike? Also the old infloresence looks like it is making another flower? If it is how long will it be before the flower opens. This is my 1 and only psychopsis and I am extremely happy to have gotten this far with it.

P.S. I am posting pics of my tetraspis C#1 that I purchased in Feb at an orchid show. I am shocked it is already giving me flowers. I got it from Ten Shin. Hope you like

Cheryl

It appears to be budding, and that thing coming out of the plant at the base appears to be new leaf growth, as far as I can tell

psychopsis HATE to be re-potted and can sulk for a long time when they are. Also on my different plants I've found the spikes can take a long time to develop (I currently have five, at different stages) and to put out a flower. For mine, the biggest difference with them seems to be (no surprise) how much light they get. I tried having one in my living room near the window, and it just sat there and did nothing. It wasn't until I moved it back under my lights again that spikes grew longer and over the last few days, are now working on flowers. Even when making a flower, they can sit for a very long time. Your's def looks like one is developing, and the markings indicate it's bloomed there several times before. Overall, my take is that you are in good shape :-) Perhaps try more light. And, well, more time. Good luck with it.
