Well, if you check out my windowsill garden post, you'll see most of them. They are on a hanging shelf I made in my East facing window. Some hang out in my lighted curio cabinet in the winter. The ones in the window only fit one way!! Ha! (like a jigsaw puzzle) The one that's been blooming since last fall is one I inherited from my Grandma. It hasn't bloomed but maybe a month or two in the last 3 years....it's just the gene's it has....(it's also like 12 years old) eh, they do what they do...

Smaller ones seem to flower during the summer.
Taisuco Mickey and one with pulcherrima all bloomed in the summer or any time they wanted for me.

All my other larger phals spike in the fall and bloom in the winter into spring.

I have some just starting spikes now as well. If you've had some cool days as you say, even just cooler than normal, then it's quite possible that's triggered it to spike. Some just spike in summer anyway. With the up and down weather we get in the UK mine just spike at any time of year, but I can usually link it to a cool period.
