Dendrobium spectabile roots.
Good day.
My question is simple.
What should the roots on a Dendrobium spectabile look like??
Thank you for the help.

I'm wondering the same...I know they are supposed to be white, but not brittle. My pseudobulbs are all shriveled and there's no new growth, but it's still green.

The pseudobulbs are the same as yours. But the roots on mine are a brownish color and have been ever since I got it. And the plant still keeps growing it grew an inch since I got it and I thing a new leaf.

Well, normally whitish, but sometimes roots become brownish from bark - if they are firm, and the velamin doesn't EASILY pull off, they are probably good ... pix are helpful ...
Pbulbs shouldn't be excessively shriveled, especially recent ones ...

I'm not an expert on this species, but have been growing a seedling for a few years, and have other latouria Dens ... they usually hold their leaves for a few years ... two at the very least ...
How are you growing yours?

Here are the roots on my spectabile. They have gone brown were I have watered them but the new tips in the media are a vivid green.

Green growing root tips are good. I'm not sure about the rest. The really dark ones would seem to be likely rotted, but if they are firm and the velamen doesn't EASILY pull off, the may be ok.
