Could be, I don't know the water analysis, but our water is mostly snow melt I believe, tho I am sure it picks up stuff on it's journey to the bay and ocean. I'm down by the bay :)

I've had good luck using chc for many orchids. I was very happy to find a place near me that sells it, and at a very good price!

Hehe good luck with that (trying to not get too many orchids) ;) I know you have a good deal of enthusiasm in that direction!

Having seen your comments I can tell you that some leaves are pleaded. Should I assume that I did not do anything wrong? I could post a picture...

Foliage comes in pleated if there was insufficient water while those leaves were developing. They won't become smooth. If new growth is coming in smooth, it's good :) Honestly, most of my Oncidium alliance get a bit of minor pleating from time to time ...

thank you all for the help. I will keep watering paying attention to the medium dryness. Since initial wilting flowers are doing ok. they are not perfect but have e fantastic fragrace. there is new growth and it is not pleading for now.
I will keep you posted on the developments.

Quick update on my Miltonia. I have been away for work a few days. On my return I noticed that the plant was ok but all the spikes (7) were wilted. I decided to fertilize it like the other "sisters" orchids, but, when I put it in water for the initial soaking, the plant separated completly from the medium. Big surprise! the plant was actually 2 plants that had been, i believe, recently separated from the mother plant: the root system is very very short but healty. I have repotted them in separate vases (see pict), cut the dried spikes and now I hoping of not having been ripped off too much from a bad seller. Any suggestion? Did I screw up?
