Newbie question about keikis

Hi. New to forum and in some way to orchids.
one of my Phal about a year ago did started a keiki. first the leaves than a spike that carried a few flowers than the roots. when the roots reached a few inches in lenght i cut the keiki off, potted in ready made orchid medium, and since then tthe new plant has already bloomed again just like the mother plant
