Default Phals with 4 and 5 bloom spikes

My mom just took this picture at my aunts house...those blooms are only from 2 plants! Are they just really happy?

I don't think they have emotions.
Ok, jokes aside, sometimes, phals may throw multiple spikes, mostly very mature ones under certain conditions (or for no reasons) do.

Also, some phals are bred to easily multi-spike and branch.

Upon close look, I think those are not truly multi-spikes but new spikes and old ( and untrimmed and left on ) spikes hanging together.

Yes, I did consider that some may be old and untrimmed -- but they don't look brown/dried! I think they're beautiful and probably shouldn't think about why/how and just enjoy the photo
