Question Brassalova cucullata-Die-back on leaves

Purchased this Brassalova orchid at our local orchid show on 4/20/13. It is mounted and in an East-facing window. The tip on two leaves are slowing dying back, little by little each day. As you can see, I have some new healthy looking roots growing. I have been misting daily. Have not fertilized yet. What is causing this die-back on the leaves? I don't want to lose this little guy. Your help is so appreciated.

Sorry I can't help. Hopefully the bump will help someone else see this.

Looks like Anthracnose. Probably from misting. Brassavolas can tolerate dryer air if they are watered thoroughly every couple/few days. I would cut the leaves back with a sterile blade, cutting where they are still green. Anything yellow is infected, and in my experience will kill the leaf unless you cut it where it is green. Then get on a good fungicide routine. I like to use Dithane and Thiomyl monthly (weekly for the first 3 weeks, then monthly). This is what Broward Orchid Supply recommends spraying and it works for me.

I see this leavetip dieback often on my Brassavolas when kept too warm and/or too dry. Growing them mounted makes it difficult to keep conditions evenly moist, so I prefer to pot them or at least to allow the roots to grow from the block into some potting medium.
I appreciate any advice, but frankly would not apply an intense fungicide treatment.
I have seen Brassavolas in their natural habitat growing in a cactus, and in the mist of a waterfall.
The trick is that even a cactus receives lots of rain during the growing season.

Thank you for the advice. Not sure what to do at this point. I cut the dead/yellow part off the leaf and dipped the end in cinnamon. I live in a dry climate, so maybe I should water more often. I have it sitting about 2 feet above another orchid which is sitting in a humidity tray. I was hoping that would provide it a little more moisture.

Watering more often may be a positive change, but I would cut out the misting and try something else if you want to increase humidity. Good luck!
