What's this on my 'chid's leaf? Female
Default What's this on my 'chid's leaf?

Evening, guys! I was going over my orchids this evening and I noticed some bumpies on a new acquisition. As you will notice in the pictures, there's a split in that leaf (it came to me that way), which may or may not have something to do with it.

I have isolated the orchid and sprayed everyone with some neem oil. Any idea what it might be?

I have posted pictures of two separate leaves.

Thanks!

Its mechanical damage, probably from travel from the farm to the store and to your home. If it gets bigger and turns yellow or black then it is infected and you just have to cut the affected part.

It is likely as Bud says but if you begin seeing more, it could be snails or some sort of insect. I just found some little snails in one of my plants.

Like Bud said.

I may add something very much like the first pic could have been a little larvae of butterflies we call "tordeuse" (many species called this way in French). The difference would be it'll go on and on, and a systemic pesticide will take care of it.

The second pic cannot be anything else than mechanical damage.

I agree with Bud, it's mechanical damage, not a disease.
