If it helps, I've got a phal who has shot out roots between the leaves. It's odd, but it seems happy and healthy, so..

There's something else growing right next to it. If you look at the picture, I made sure I used the macro lens and NOW I really don't know what's that.

Another root. That's good. It means your plant is going into an active vegetative growth cycle. The bigger and healthier it is the better the next bloom cycle will be.

This plant has 2 babies ( Keikis ) growing. 3 Leaves each and one out of the 2 plants has roots. So I'm very happy mother made it, given she had mayor root rot.
