pods and keiki=that is very exciting for you....that means the plant is into self preservation mode or has been stressed to produce babies ....either way, a baby is always a cause for celebration

bud-

at the begginning it appeared to only be a new leaf..
so on 4/23/13 i pollinated.. and i can see the pod already forming....the flower is shriveled as should be and i am uber excited... but i have been keeping eye on what i thought may jut be new leaf...and i said to myself...omg...is that a baby?!!! excitedly posted the picture wanting everyone elses opinion.. had i know i was getting the keiki i would definitely have waited to pollinate until the baby was ready to be separated and some time had passed in between..

i appreciate your input thanks!

A Phaleanopsis pod is from a pollinated flower located in the spike....a keiki is from the spike or can be on the base of the plant or as your picture shows us in between two leaves....
can you show us the picture of the pod?

i had 6 buds on a lower branch while i still had the original 3 blooms when it was bought... when the 1st bud started to open..i cut the original 3 blooms off.. but for the better... as you see the 3 are wilting..these have been pollinated post-bloom... i dont intend to pollinate the last 3 if they even bloom... i thought it was increasing pod chances by doing this..correct me if im wrong...
this was my first pollination... as im am looking to home flask and know a good chunk about it...

here are photos of what looks to be starting pods....and the phal as a whole.. (3 babies in the plastic homemade humidity tray- 2 catts and an oncidium) and one of my chihuahuas in the background... haha

thanks
