I got another one :baghead: there's nothing wrong with it, mostly dried bloom spikes and it's just in it's clear pot. So the ceramic pot probably broke and it ended up in clearance. It has beautiful plump green roots. I cut the spikes and left it alone otherwise. I did see some totally different bagged orchids, one was almost in bloom! I didn't have extra cash to get it or haggle the price for a "spot on the leaf"...but you know I was tempted!

Lol, we were just in Lowes for some mad science project supplies for an experiment fiance is conducting and I didn't even go near the flower department. I stared longingly while we were looking at CFLs and LEDs, but I didn't go. Mwahaha.

cl
It was a mommy-playdate with a friend. She needed plants, so I went straight for the clearance rack and gave her a little lesson in orchids "I thought they were dead after the flowers fall off!" SMH. Every. Single. Person. She ended up with some $1 calla lillies and I talked her out of everything else she was going to buy. She ended up spending less than I did! I also got a $1 ivy to go in a hanging basket in my kitchen and a bag of orchid fertilizer (finally).

Lol, I find that to be the case quite often. I am glad I'm old enough to understand that plants have a cycle of life :P

Here's my Brassavola Little Stars in bloom from Lowes.
Man, is it fragrant! Every night I walk into my room a wall of frangrance hits me, and it just has 1 little bloom! It lookalike it's getting 1-3 more buds on the same spike.

For the record I was able to get a bagged Vanda at a discount at Home Depot after I talked to one of the employees.

My HD literally only has the awful looking HUGE blue dyed phals...a few run-of-the-mill phals too. Not even any mini phals. I will not return. I went to a third Lowe's yesterday and they had less clearance, more nice ones, and more bagged ones. I think their staff is more caring of their plants (and it looked like a new shipment...mostly still tall-bagged blooming phals).
