Default Spike turning yellow with 2 keikis

Hi!

I have a mini phal with lots of new roots and 2 keikis. I've noticed that the spike it's turning yellow (where the keikis are) I've started watering the plant twice a because i think need more water now? Please advice i don't my phal to die!

spikes die off naturally and the first sign is yellowing from the tip. If it was dying off from the base, then you would have a problem.

It should die back to the keiki/s - remember these can be repotted when the roots are at least 2 inches long, preferably more.

Do not overwater....

should be fine - but the best way to know when to water is to wait a few days until the roots all appear silver-coloured. Lift the pot with your hand and estimate the weight ( 1 ). Then water thoroughly - until water runs out of the base. Only water again when you think you have reached ( 1 ) above. It also doesn't harm to gently mist the aerial roots every one or two days - this will keep them plump and healthy.

However in the meantime I think you should repot into a bigger, clear pot ( so you can see the roots, per watering tip ). Don't attempt to stuff all the aerial roots in the pot - aerial roots are fine.

Can i report it even with keikis coming out? the pot is 2" should i go 4"

yep 4 inch would be fine. Don't change the type of potting mix you are using as you appear to have got the "hang" of it and the plant looks healthy.
