This is a reminder to all to remain respectful towards others. There's been too much sniping going on around here recently

I'm not sure that importing, let's say, a strongly opinionated discussion that already took place on Slippertalk, especially when one of the protagonist is not around (the author of the said article and promoter of the K-lite formula), is a good thing. It's not.
On my own, I alternate because I have 3 formulas at disposal (algoflash for orchids, which is so so… and the orchid focus 3 bottles), plus osmocote™ for some hungry ones (vanilla and the future paph coming one day). I'll use them till they are finished, then I'll move to a MSU equivalent (Rain Mix) available in Europe, with either K-lite or equivalent if available or orchid focus.

Yes, it is unfortunate that the AOS article was mentioned. It would be best forgotten.

As a group we decided to go with an alternating fertiliser regime. Yes - alternating well-known orchid fertilisers , including one you use, MSU. Yes -exclusive use of MSU wasn't seen as ideal, be that subjective or not. Nothing WOW or AMAZING about that......or impertinent......its a viewpoint.
If we decide to try something different, its our perogative, and doesn't deserve baseless derision.

Excuse me.
I expressed my opinion, and it elicited a "nope" from you. That's not impertinent?

to remind you this was the opinion part of your response :
"In that case, I would suspect that the fertilizer they used either had too little of something, too much of something, or possibly even both in different nutrients".
I said nope because as it happens a couple of the people in the discussion used MSU, at the time exclusively. The same fertiliser you use exclusively, "without any issues". You made an assumption regarding what was being used by our group.
As I said - the concerns mainly related to the fact that the quality of blooms/plants had deteriorated over the years and they were trying to figure out possible reasons why. We all decided to try using fertilisers ( including MSU ) on an alternate basis.
I am sorry that you think I am impertinent for disagreeing with your opinion. I look forward to reading your response to the people who commented on the aticle you recommended I read.

I'm willing to chalk this one up to each of us misinterpreting the other's words - to some degree, at least.
Your "nope" seemed to be a complete dismissal of my studied understanding of the possibilities (hence my assessment of impertinence, not disagreement), and your "they were AOS judges" appeared to me to be assigning knowledge based entirely upon position.
I'll agree that my assessment that some judges not knowing their behinds from a hole in the ground, was easy to take as a criticism of those judges, which was certainly not my intention.
Peace?
