Hey,

Yeeey, my first post.
I have one more spot in my relative sunny window and was wondering which of the orchid mentioned should i chose. They seem to be very closely related.
Any advice on parfume strngth/ ease of flowering/ etc, would be greatly appreciated.

You meant:

Zygopetalum and Bollopetalum

You can find online infos, culture and care for these kind of orchids. You can also ask growers and vendors near your area if they have these kind of orchids.
I dont have any Bollopetalum but I have Zygopetalum Advance Australia and Zygopetalum mackayi.
Both are easy to grow....just follow the culture religiously. Read older posts from the other members who posted about these plants.
tip: do not wet the leaves or leave droplets on the leaves to dry by itself....I use paper towel to wipe any droplets on the leaves....the leaves of these orchids are thin and easy to bruise.
find a watering and fertilizer regimen that will work for you ....its always a trial and error until you find the right routine.

I have both and the zygos are far easier............as to fragrance, they are all fragrant. You should just choose which one you like best. Advance Australia is a good choice because it also does not grow too large.

Zygos are really nice! I just bought a zygo Kiwi as the scent is very sweet and it stays smaller. I have a seedling that will be a bit of a gamble so I wanted a sure thing. If fragrance is important, either smell before buying or get a clone, then you can be assured it will be what you want. Welcome to the forum!
