Mushy Phal Leaves?

Good afternoon, everyone! I have come home today to find my baby orchid has a mushy leaf and all of its other leaves are limp. I don't know what happened, the plant was totally happy just yesterday!

Just a back story on this orchid in case it helps - I brought it home and it had very few viable roots left; I repotted it in a small pot, new bark medium, and I dunked the entire plant in some KLN to encourage it to grow roots. I have always soaked it when it was dry and it seemed very happy. It had nice crisp leaves and was seeming to improve.

And then today...=(

It has been in the 80s this week and reached 88 yesterday. I had the orchids outside (brought them in at night) in indirect light to enjoy the humidity and warmth..today I didn't move this one outside because of its leaf, though.

What is this? What should I do?

Edit: I just noticed one of my larger phals is getting this way too on its bottom leaves; They are limp and getting wrinkled...Is this a response to the heat? Is it a response to going outside to a hot, humid environment and then being brought in to the air conditioned, less humid house? =\ I think I will just leave them inside from now on...

My guess is the plant is just stressed out because you had to cut alot of roots off.

What are your temps inside? and what are your temps outside at night?

I don't think it's that because my big phal that has good roots is doing it too. I think its stress from the temp differences. It has gone from being like 70 during the day and 68 at night to like 83-88 during the day and 68 at night. I was placing them outside and I think they're not taking coming in at night well. I also think the heat may have dehydrated them.

I don't think the temps caused that, unless plant was in the sun while temps were higher than the plant was used to and it burned.

Or it was just a lot more sun than the plant is used to.

It may be the tamps thats why I asked you what they are. I think you should just leave your orchids outside day and night its not to hot that you need to bring them in.

Lol, you would ask for a photo at dusk. Here are three. The first is of the baby phal and its leaves. The second and third pic are from my larger phal..it's hard to see in the photo but the tips and edges of its leaves are wrinkled, and you can see how droopy and soft they are. =( It is usually a much more perky phal.

It is hard for me to leave them out all day without moving them because at some point they would be in direct sunlight. I have been just putting them out in the afternoon when the sun is not beaming right onto the patio. We also get severe thunderstorms with destructive winds and so forth during spring/summer.

You can buy a shelve, the ones that are made of wire not wood (dont know what you would call those so I hope you know what I am talking about) then put a shade cloth over it You will need to bring all that in when you get a storm so you could just leave them inside.

I think I will be laving them inside. They were doing soooo well until I decided to put them outside. =( Now I am afraid they might die or lose leaves.

No there is nothing you can do to fix the leaves, just make sure that it gets the care it needs I think they will be fine
