Default S/H Den spike?

I'm so excited! This is only the second orchid to spike under my care and my first dendrobium. Got the plant in September as a clearance with a broken spike, moved it to semi-hyroponics (the First Rays way) in October with 2 new growths starting. The 2 new growths are coming along very nicely and now the tallest cane appears to be spiking. This guy even has a tag so I know a little about him: Den. (Blue Fairy x Blue twinkle) 10/13/10.

Not all of the dens I moved to semi-hydroponics are doing well. I think I did a bad job timing 3 of the 5 thus far, but I'm glad this one is taking to it without trouble, because I love the flowers.

Had a bit of trouble, but finally I attached some pics (though I only have an iphone for a camera). I'm happy to be able to share with all of you because very few people around me can understand my excitement!

Good job! I know how excited you must feel. I have had a spectabile for a year now and nothing I have done has made it bloom. It has previously bloomed as there are many old canes with dead spike marks but for me, no blooms. It has just started it's first new cane in my care so maybe....

Woohoo! Found the start of three spikes on another noid dendrobium that's not in S/H. Now I've got 2 of them I have to check on daily to watch every little millimeter of growth

Add these to my blooming phals and I'm going to be overwhelmed with orchids in bloom soon.

Please post pics of your spectabile when it blooms. Thanks everyone for your kind words!
