How can flowers wilt all at the same time
This friday i got a beautiful orchid, perky with gorgeous flowers. Today.. all the flowers are wilted, i have no idea why. Is it because i didn't take it out of the pot it came in? or too much sun? i don't think so.. it's partially cloudy these past few days. I left this orchid at my fiancees house since it came and i came back yesterday to find that. It is still damp. The leaves are fine though it's just the flowers.
The white dust around the roots there is salt buildup not mildew and that dry root on the left is the only bad one so far i've found.

Do you know what it is, looks like maybe a phal,
Your plant could just be done blooming. After it is done blooming I would repot it so you can get it in fresh potting mix and take a look at the roots

I agree it is probably bud blast. I don't know about Brooklyn's weather, but here in Schenectady it was windy and outright cold, and I don't know how you got it to your fiancees house, but it may have been exposed to cold and wind; those conditions could contribute to bud blast. Hot air blowing on it from the heating system could contribute to bud blast as well.

I agree, some kind of shock to it. They don't normally all fall of at once when they are just finished blooming. They usually go in the order that they bloomed.

Yea I know they ALWAYS go by which one bloomed first. I got this orchid in the mail in perfect condition. Huh I never heard of bud blast, maybe because it was in a dark box for three days and then suddenly exposed to sunlight?

Usually caused by a sudden, drastic change in temps, or drafts.

Would it be ok for me top try top re-blooming it again by cutting spikes at the nod? Maybe it will bloom again after I get it home.

Some phals will branch...some won't. If you feel it's healthy enough I say sure...go for it if you'd like. Cut it above a node and see what happens.
Since it's dropped it's current blooms...it's an excellent time to go ahead and repot if you aren't comfortable growing in sphag.
