It's likely that it's been getting too much water, causing the roots to rot and the plant to become dehydrated.
Do you know the name of this? What type of potting media/mix is it in?

It doesn't look like any orchid that I am familiar with. Can you contact the grower and ask what it is?

No the Bat Plant isn't an orchid.
But it's a very interesting plant if you can find one to buy.
Are you sure the plant is dying? The leaves look like they need support. Was the flower open before?
Flower could be fading but this doesn't mean the plant is dying although I have seen healthier specimens. Looks up Bat Plant Culture on Google and you might be able to work out what the issue is from that.

I'm wondering if anyone has a source for Tacca chantrieri, the Black Bat Flower? I've looked at Amazon and EBay but neither seems to have what reads as a reliable source, except maybe for seeds.
I have read that this plant can go dormant when the proper conditions are not met, unlike Tacca integrifolia, the White Bat Flower.
