fading color?
Question fading color?

Just need to know, why new blooms are fading in color? is it true that it's lower light? What causes that?

There are a variety of possibilities.

One is, indeed, changes in the cultural conditions, with light and temperature being the two "biggies".

Another might be genetics. I had a Phal. venustum cross whose first flowers were dark bronze in color, and the newer ones gradually were more yellow.

Default sample pix

This one is a Salmon, was gorgeous Guava and Pineapple with inside Orange ( coral ) but now it's Green instead of yellow, Yellow instead of Orange and a VERY pale trace of pink. What can I do to help her? I got it in January and it pretty much done with its blooms.

PS- that's a 2nd stem, I had no idea was at the bottom of the plant but discovered when I got home. it broke and new buds came out of broken stem but colors were faded. That's why you see those buds at the bottom of the plant.

Very pretty! I can see why you picked it!

I keep reading that the flowers for the second stem will be smaller and less impressive. The fading could be a part of that; the plant just has less energy this time around.

I have a pale yellow NOID phal, whose new flowers come out yellow, but over time, fade to ivory. The fading happens over a couple of weeks. Every new bud that opens is yellow, and then it gradually fades. I wonder if the same parent plant is causing this fading.
