Couple questions about blooming? Male

I suppose I'm weird.
Ive had lots of horses but still view them as a viable meat source.

I also have cats but still understand that they are a viable food option.
I wouldnt eat my cats... but I understand that one readily could and I don't have many qualms about it.

Kangaroo is awesome!
Never had mountain lion but now I'm interested.

No, I'm not Swede, but I love Scandinavian Culture and all my best friends are Scandinavian from three countries (Sweden, Denmark and Norway).
They love colorful stuff. I wear colorful stuff and even in NYC, I sometimes get a look,,,well,,,mostly from visitors not New Yorkers. lol

Yeah, everyone seems to wear black in winter here in the east coast. I like black and all, but some bright element every now and then won't hurt, right?
You'd like my advisor at school, he is a zooarchaeologist that works in Greenland, Iceland and Scandanavia on viking archaeological sites. He's pretty brilliant, if not a bit creepy.

And yes, I try to go bright. My kitchen is orange. Not the walls themselves, but everything in it. I also got to put ONE picture on the wall with red, yellow AND green in it. I consider that an accomplishment living with a man who owns white dishes and black furniture. And this thread has gotten way off topic, but that's okay! I enjoy getting to know everyone..XD

I dropped a zooarchaeology class at school when my professor told us a story of voodoo practitioners on Barbuda torturing cats to open the spirit world. I have two cats and I am a softie, I could never ever eat it...I guess unless I didn't know what it was. I think depending on the situation and culture, horse can be seen as viable, but..I probably couldn't cuz I'd think I was eating my childhood pony the whole time or something, lol.

Mountain lion is good. Really, REALLY lean. Ground up it can make awesome burgers with swiss cheese, mushrooms and jalapenos. o_O I guess I have eaten cat then..Just not the pet kind. The kind that would eat your face.

Wait a minute, where do you get all these different kinds of meat? especially mountain lion...

I know some culture they eat horse. Kangaroo, there are many of them in certain part of the world, so not surprising.

but mountain lion? did you hunt it yourself while hiking? lol

I can't imagine what cats will taste like. They don't seem like they have much to eat out of though. lol

I've only had beef, pork, chicken, duck, goose, pheasant, lamb, let's see...what else...oh, buffalo meat and rabbit are about the most exotic of any meat I've had. I love rabbit meat!

---------- Post added at 10:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 PM ----------

We should probably open up a whole new thread on meat experience. lol

Without bright colors, I would be so bored...and probably go crazy or depressed. or sad.

I feel like that's somewhat inappropriate, if only they had a "miscellaneous and random shit" forum, you know? XD

I lived in Colorado and I was poor (working 2 jobs, still wasn't making enough). One of my customers, who became a good friend, was a local butcher and be brought me a bunch of exotics from his chest freezer like a wonderful Redneck Santa Claus. Apparently the guy he got the mountain lion from only wanted it for its pelt. I've had all that you've had except pheasant and rabbit, but I'll see your buffalo and raise you elk. Also, we had a Native American farm that raised bison right there outside of town. *sigh* Man, I miss local access to that stuff.

I agree on the colors thing, I'm somewhat dreading our new place because there will be no balcony, which means no outside patio garden or colorful hanging plants all summer long. *sniff*

Cat tastes.... chewy and sort of gamey and musty...
I didn't really like it...
I have a butcher near me that gets tons if meat varieties in. Tons...
Plus I travel alot.

I'm wondering about the mountain lions as well... I'm curious now.

Bison is amazing! It's literally replaced beef for me.

You will like pheasant. It's like beef and bison kind of difference when pheasant is compared to chicken.
Leaner and extra tasty!

Rabbits are hard to describe but really really good!
Now, rabbits are rodent family, and that makes me wonder what rats might taste like.

Ok, I'm sorry. I'll shut up. lol

Rats are pretty tasty when they are roasted in sauce.

So are guinea pigs.

I find rabbit kind of.... rich.. unless cooked right.

It's funny how blooming orchid thread is turning into a exotic meat experience one. lol

We should totally open up a new thread and might have a lot of fun hearing about what other people out there have been eating.
