You can not save the leaf that is going yellow it will get more and more yellow until it falls off.

What is causing the yellow, though? Does any kind of plant disease cause it? Would infected roots do that? Is it because it was wrinkly?
And where do I cut it? I read on the "Second node"..second from the bottom of the spike?
And edit: I am also reading that to encourage root and leaf growth it might be better to cut it at the base of the spike?

It is probably falling off because the roots got rotted.
You only cut th stem off at the second node if you want it to bloom again. you want it to stop blomming and start growing roots and leaves so you will cut the stem off all the way as much as you can get.
here are some videos on orchids there is one on cutting the spike hope it helps

Thank you! My last question: I purchased some Dyna Gro root hormone today in an attempt to assist my orchids in growing new leaves since they are kind of weak right now...how do I apply it once it's here? Is it a dilution that I have to spray in a spray bottle? Do I apply it directly to the roots? Do I drench it? o_O I imagine the directions will be on the bottle, but I want to make sure I do it right. Oh! And I assume I dab a little cinnamon on the cut spikes, yeah?

Last bit then I'll stop for tonight! I just cut the flowers back and I was examining what I could see of the roots through the potting media and one of them has gone limp and thin and mushy =( I don't know about the rest but what should I do about this? Just leave it? It was just repotted so it must have been okay before I put it in the bark...=\
