Here's another photo of Phal stuartiana:

I know they come in a yellow form. I'm not too sure if they come in a form with a light pink blush, it looks like they might.
I know that Phalaenopsis sanderiana does.

Yes, I would consider both Phalaenopsis sanderiana and Phalaenopsis stuartiana to be excellent beginners Phals.
Another Phal I could recommend is Phalaenopsis lindenii. It's got the mottled leaves. It's a much smaller plant. It is just as easy as Phal sanderiana or Phal stuartiana. They produce a good number of flowers per spike. They're unique and somewhat uncommon in the trade. They also have hot pink markings.

I don't know if your looking for species or hybrids but here's some of my favorite hybrids from Hausermann's. All are easy to grow.
Dtps. Chia-Shing Royal- white, peppered with pink/purple, purple lip
Dtps. Fusheng Glad Lip- white with pink lip and a little pink around the lip
Dtps. I-Hsin Sesame- yellowish background, peppered with reddish pink
Dtps. I-Hsin Waltz- White lip, pink background peppered with darker pink spots
The ones I listed above are all around $16.99. Be sure to check out Hausermann's and the links posted by me and others above and see what appeals to you. Let us know what you get if you decide to buy something.
Just my thoughts on Phal. stuartiana... I have no personal experience with this species but I know of other members on another forum that grow this species and they say it isn't exactly hard to grow but it can be quite picky and prone to rot, even mounted. Again, just saying what I've heard, I have no experience with Phal. stuartiana.

Maybe they were growing them too wet? Idk, I'd have to follow their threads to find out what the problem really is.
Mottled leaf Phals don't usually grow as wet as the green leafed Phals do. They tolerate moderate neglect much better than the green leafed Phals.

like the petal is a solid color with spots of another color?
are you looking for a Harlequin Phal.?
You want spottet petals, not spotted leaves?
