A little off topic, but I wanted to address this...

There actually are true blue orchids, but they are in genera that most hobbyists who are new or relatively new to the hobby would never recognize the name to or be able to tell that they are orchids visually.

One genus of orchid is Thelymitra.

Another is Cyanicula.

There are also a few in the genus Disa.

There are more obscure genera of orchids that have blue flowers, but even I don't recognize many of them.

Here are some links to some of these blue orchids:

Epiblema

Cyanicula

Pheladenia deformis

Thelymitra

Blue Disa / Disa graminifolia (Plants) by Nicky on 7th February 2013 | iSpot

Drip disa / Disa longicornu (Plants) by Dennis Laidler on 9th January 2012 | iSpot

Many of these are not available in the hobby. Only a few species in the genus Thelymitra are grown. These are not easy to grow and are not recommended for beginners.

Well, that would be why I did't think there were any. I'll have to get my skills up so I can get my hands on one of these beauties one day. For the three years I've had my oldest orchid, I've wanted a blue one.
