The local Flower shop has it's annual Orchid Show, where hobby growers show off the plants they have in bloom. It is very small scale, but always beautiful and a welcome change during our long winters. There is no charge and anyone can go and look at the orchids and everything else they have in bloom.
I took 5 orchids, 3 in bloom and 2 in bud, the buds almost opening. The Eplc. Haiku "Twinkle Elf" has been with me for about 2 years, bought bloom size and is blooming for the first time. Since I took it to the Orchid Show, I missed out on the opening of the buds.
Oh well, there is always next time! Never could find much info on the "Twinkle Elf", one source listed Epi. illense x Lc. "Trick or Treat" as parents. I wonder what my Beallara looks like, also a first time bloomer, guess I'll find out when I pick them up next week.
After I dropped off my orchids I took a look around and left the store with two mini Phals, a Wenlong "Pink Girl" #1and a very pretty white one.
They were both in moss and I repotted in bark as soon as I got home. I found a partial tag in the white ones pot, looks like Phal. Linn....Neither one of the little cuties objected to the repotting.
And now for pictures! First my little "Twinkle Elf" which has really stolen my heart ever since I saw a bloom picture of her.
