Default Renanthera Imschootiana seedling help

The seedling is only 3'' tall so i'm worried i might accidently kill it, what type of potting should i put it in and how much water should it have.

What I basicly need are guidelines on how to take care of this orchid.

What kind of orchid is it? I know there are a lot of folks who can answer your questions here but you will need to supply a few specifics.

Renanthera like to dry out quickly like vandas do. Slatted baskets or mounting will work. The ideal is for it to be watered in the morning and dry by nighttime, but certainly not stay moist for more that a week. I like mine to be dry in just a few days. Drainage is very important. Some people use charcoal with a little sphag, or coconut husks with charcoal also work well. Some like lava rock. Keep the mix nice and loose so that air can circulate.

I don't think pebbles would work as well. Charcoal is good for keeping the sphag fresh. Lava rock is porous, so it can work too. Also, many people use fir bark.

Yes, I think that would work just fine, if the clay balls don't fall out. You could probably use a clay orchid pot if you make sure that you don't over pot. Often if a vandaceous orchid out grows a basket, it is just set inside a bigger basket with more medium added

Renanthera imschootiana is an intermediate to warm growing Vandaceous orchid, (belonging to the Vanda tribe).

It is a very easy to grow Renanthera species, (at least to me they were, as opposed to Renanthera monachica, imo). When it becomes a larger plant, it can tolerate bright indirect light levels on par to those of many Vandas.

As a small sized seedling, it likes indirect moderately bright light, that Oncidiums do well in.

Allow the potting media to dry out completely before watering.

Humidity levels should be moderate to high (60% - 80%)

I'm currently growing one in a clear plastic pot with medium grade bark only.

They bloom very easily as well. Late winter/early spring is usually when they bloom.

If I'm not mistaken, the blooms last for about 2 weeks.

In case you're wondering - this species is naturally an upright growing monopodial orchid.
