phaleanopsis white leave

bought this phal a few weeks ago it has been doing well but today noticed one of the leaf is turning white ,it grows on bark and have very healthy roots any advice welcome thanks

Tho the picture isn't really clear, it looks like your phal might being getting too much sun (sunburn)which is bleaching out the leaves.
What sort of exposure is it getting? east, south, west window? How far from your window is it sitting? With the sun out, if you hold your hand between the window and plant do you see a defined shadow? Do the leaves feel warm/hot to the touch?

If we have alittle more info it'll be easier to help with your problem.

south facing window ,we did have lots of sun here the last 2 days and they are on the window sill ,didnt think the phal could get sunburn so fast tho , just hope it will recover from it thanks

Yeah, looks sunburned - southfacing windows get A LOT of sun during winter - unless it's very shaded, it will be too much for Phals

I have my Phals in a south window but the set back about 2' and only get about 30 min of full sun in the early morning and the seem to like it

2 foot in and sitting right up against the window makes quite a bit of difference.

Morning sun normaly doesn't harm phals. They can take all the light in the morning.

I have some phals right up against south facing window with sheer curtain. They grow nicely.

Some phal hybrids take more light than others. also, sudden exposure to too much light can cause this.

thanks ,have taken them away from that window will keep them in the kitchen lots of light but nothing direct with some luck they will recover ,but that leaf is loss i say a day or 2 before it fail still its a strong phal so should recover

Agree that it looks like sunburn. I'm personally surprised about this in the winter but even I guess if there have been some sunny days south facing windows will be the prime spot for burning. Sounds like a good thing to put it where there is only indirect light, that's the best for phals.

Actually, in my experience at least, burn in a south facing window is more likely in winter when the sun comes more from the south. Of course, weather (cloudy/overcast vs sun) makes a lot of difference, and I expect latitude does as well... And any buildings or shrubs and trees casting shadow.
My south facing window gets direct sun most of the day in winter, little to none in summer. And even in winter here, generally there are more sunny days than not.

I move my high light plants out of the south facing windows as sun gets higher in the sky in spring, putting them in sunny east or west facing window, or outside, and in summer put some lower light plants there.

Yeah, it does make sense when you think about it. I only have South-West facing windows, no due South ones. I use those for my plants that need plenty of light for the summer, but don't put the phals there even in winter.
