Thank you very much everyone for your help. I really appreciate it! This forum is a keeper. One more question can some one give me the specific name of my plant? Thank you again.
Well, I would love to, but that would be nearly impossible because there are many red complex hybrids and even within the same grex, the appearance varies greatly. This is respecially true for paphs as most are seed grown.
You should just call it beautiful red complex or wine complex.
I am yet to find a nice red/wine complex. I have had great color but small, or large but not so great color.
I have a few green, white, and spotted but no red or wine yet.
Oh really? I've never seen a lady slipper before. I am new to orchids, but my mom has quite a few. So I have been shopping with her enough times lol. I found two lady slippers in this tiny florist in a little town lol. Bought one for my mom and I took this one. My moms is very pretty too. I think I'm addicted to these types
Lady Slippers are not as common as phals or oncidium intergenerics.
For many people, the only places to find them are online, nurseries and very select florist shop where they can cost a lot of money!
I am lucky to live in NYC where stores in flower district carry lots of them, but good ones are still very rare. I constantly buy them in bud and then when they open, I am disappointed most of the time.
I do have some now that I really like, but I am still constantly buying paphs in search of what I like.
I have over 30 paphs now. must have bought hundreds. lol
