Spotted some new spikes today
Default Spotted some new spikes today

Doing some reorganising today I came across a few things in spike that I now get to look forward to.

Sarcochilus hirticalcar
Masdevallia Whiskers (veitchiana X glandulosa)
Plectorhiza tridentata (I think, they are still very small)

Also have a Miltonia that I got in the post which is spiking. Looking forward to some blooms soon and hoping the Massie blooming heralds the start of a few others blooming too.

Will post pics when I have something to show

Oh, while I'm at it. Has anyone repotted a Masdevallia while in spike and how did it go? I didn't even realise there were spikes on the Whiskers until after I'd repotted it because I was doing about 25 plants and I was running on autopilot LOL

Nice!

I repotted a Masdie that had spikes, but also divided; spikes died.

Finding new spikes is so exhilarating, isn't it? Congratulations!

I just love, love, love Milts because they're so lovely and the flowers are so fragrant but I've had such a heck of a time trying to get mine to rebloom.

Can't wait to see pics of all your new blooms...

Oh well fingers crossed on the massie, I didn't really disturb the roots, just moved in from a plastic tube into a slightly larger terracotta pot without messing t=with the substrate too much, we'll see...

Good luck! Even if you lose the spikes, there will hopefully be more soon!
