Well, maybe there is some Gower Ramsey somewhere in my orchid, but I can't be sure since it is a noid. Cheryl, I goggled Gower Ramsey to see what it looks like and I came across your OB post in 2011--nice flower--glad to hear it is still blooming for you! And yes, it's quite a job to water it. Somehow my orchids seem to multiply so I have them close together and have to move them to water.

That looks a lot like Oncidium 'Catatante'; Trader Joe's has these often - the oncidiums at TJ's come from Matsui Nurserys and they carry "Catatante'
I recently saw one that had a 3.5 - 4 foot blooms, freshly opened - it was amazing.
You can google the name and see if it is like the one you have - I bet it is!

I have one oncidium that has very long spikes and takes 4 months from the time the spike starts to grow until the flowers bloom.

Steve, it's quite possible I have the same orchid. I goggled Matsui nursery, they are in California, and all I know is that the nursery I purchased my orchids from got them from a grower in California. I didn't see "Catatante" in their listing, but I found it on Orchid Wiz listed as Onc. Catatante and it did look a lot like mine. Matsui nursery had a Pacific Sunrise 'Rojetta' which also looked a lot like my orchid, but I couldn't find anything about the length of the flower spike.

Tucker, it will be 4 months on March 8th, so I am hoping for flowers soon--I know, patience.

Will post pics when--if ever--the flowers open
