to all of you! Once again I'm depending on you to "unconfuse" me. If the growth with roots and what looks like buds is a flower spike, what are the thingies growing out from between the leaves? New leaves? I bought this kingianum "alba" when the little nubbins were barely visible and they are growing ever so slowly. :nailbite
The other pic is of a Eplc. Haiku Twinkle "Red Elf" I've had for about 2 years and is spiking for the first time. I can't wait to see it in bloom. After much research I found one source stateing that the "Red Elf" is Epi. ilense x Lc. Trick or Treat. I have no idea if that is fact.
Sorry for the poor pics, I have zero talent for photography and for that reason, only have a dinky little digital.
Thank you in advance for any/all input!

Look like keikis to me. These are very prolific with growing babies. The one with the roots isn't actually just a flower spike, it's a keiki that is also growing a flower, eventually you'll get leaves there too. Just a flower spike will grow as a sheath between the leaves, that broad base tells me they are keikis

greengarden, I never thought of a keiki. lol Do you know if the keiki has flowerbuds or are the little bumps the future leaves? Are the pointy things, between the leaves, flower spikes? Thanks for the help!

oops, think you already answered my questions. Should've looked closer, I think I'm overeager.

The base of the pseudobulb has a broad bit which is where the roots will come from when they grow

I have a pink/purple kingianum and it has keikis on keikis all of which are blooming! I think that the number of keikis I have can indicate that more light is needed. However, I saw an amazing, prize winning, specimen at the Philadelphia Flower show that was a giant hanging basket with the keiki on keikis hanging down and making the most wonderful display. I aspire to have one just like it

Keikis can bloom before being fully developed.
