Hello SJF. It is not uncommon having bud blast when you move an orchid from one environment to another. All sometimes it takes is moving from outside to inside or from one room to another. Now as long as you have not overwatered then I would suspect that change in the environment is the reason for bud blast in this case. Also it can occur if you do a repot. It's happened to us all just treat the plant well and you will be rewarded very soon with some new flowers. I have the same plant and they tend to produce lots of spikes and several new pbulbs each year. Goodluck!
