Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the orchid craze, but already have a small collection. I'm moving from Brisbane to Townsville for university next month however, and I'm wondering if I can take my orchids into that kind of climate?
I currently have;
1. Enc. Cindy tampensis
E tampensis X E alata

2. EPC.
EC el hatillo x ENC cordrgreene

3. Dendrobium Hoshimusume ‘haming’
Den. Oriental Paradise x Den. Otohime

4. BLC. Topaz love
Lc Mari's Song 'CTM217' HCC AOS x Blc Love Sound 'Dogashima' AM AOS

5. Phalaenopsis (unknown, fairly generic)

6. Dendrobium Speciosum

7. Dendrobium (unknown, possibly Dendrobium bigibbum, kingianum)

8. Oncidium sphacelatum

Townsville stats as follows:

I've moved all over with orchids in tow. From very cold in Melbourne to very hot and dry in Wagga and now on the sth coast NSW with high humidity. I've never completely lost one, had a few struggle and then adapt though. I'd just take them and see how you go personally.

Have you got someone local who will take them if needs be? If not I'd be happy to help

Thanks @Greengarden, I'll take that on board. How did you go with flowering?

Yes, my sister is staying in Brisbane and has already put her hand up sorry. If all goes well, and I'm eventually brave enough to propagate then I will let you know though.

haha, It's ok I was just kidding :P Most things have still flowered for me, it's just been a matter of fiddling around with where different plants are put, some things are now indoor plants and others have been able to be moved outside. Just keep in mind that increased humidity means substrate doesn't dry as quick so be very careful with watering.

No worries! haha. That's good then. Yeah I've been told the humidity can be a bit of a killer. Thank you again! Very good advice.
