Default Colombia Orchid ID Please

This orchid is growing an a garden area so I don't know if it is native or not. These photos show it flowering for the first time in the nine years I've been here.

My first reaction on seeing the flowers was Maxillaria variablis, but the plant doesn't look like that. I'd still say it's a Maxillaria or something closely related, but the names have all been changed on these and that makes it somewhat more difficult to find.

It is definitely a Maxillaria or something very closely related to the genus, as was stated.

I haven't kept tabs with what new genera have emerged from the genus Maxillaria; but if the genus Maxillaria has been divided into several different genera, then all I'll say is that this orchid was part of what would've been known as Maxillaria in the past.

Not all Maxillarias have pseudobulbs, and not all of them have nice and neat growth habits. There are Maxillarias that have growth habits very similar to their cousins, Dichaea.

I remember seeing this species before, but I don't recall the species name. You might be able to find it listed under Maxillaria on Ecuagenera's on-line list of orchids.

Definitely in the subtribe Maxillariinae, probably now a Camaridium. Beautiful photos as well, good for identification.

Thank you all. I guess it will be hard to pin down. Also thanks for the Ecuagenera tip though I didn't see my plant.

A friend of mine has suggested that it is Maxillaria spilotantha. What are your opinions of this ID?

Thank you Ron that was a helpful link. Perhaps spilotantha has different colored flowers. The link shows white, I have yellow and on another site I have seen pink.

Some of these vary considerably in color. There is another link on the IOSPE page that shows a yellowsih flower.

Thank you Pitter and Ronaldhanko. I think its pretty sure that it is Maxillaria spilotantha (very close to Maxillaria procurrens). Some taxonomists prefer now to name them Maxillariella.
Plants are found in a huge area from Venezuela to Peru, what explains some variability.
